Wow y’all I have been struggling to be creative and want to write anything lately and I feel like Im slacking in the favorites posts. This summer has been so far quite uneventful sadly due to my husband working his butt off so we can get our house built. We did however make it up to the Great Sand Dunes National Park which was soooooo Cool to experience.

If you ever get a chance to visit the Sand Dunes just outside Alamosa CO I highly encourage you to get mid May to early June when there should be water running through from all the snow melt. It is just like going to the ocean without all the seaweed, salt water and waves. I have not been since 2005 so it was nice to visit with our dogs and take them up and down the creek. We did not hike the dunes due to having the dogs and the sand being too hot on their feet but maybe we can in the fall.

Well thats pretty much it for the month of May. Here are my top 5 favorite items I purchased this month!

Yellow Caftan: I found this caftan from Anthropologie and I hit the buy button immediately! It is soooooo much better in person and perfect for a swim cover up or to wear a slip underneath as a dress. I will say that it is extremely oversized so if you don’t mind the baggy swing style I would not get it. It is a one size fits all and they really mean it because it is HUGE! But I love that look for a cover up for the beach. It gives off designer La Vie Style House vibes at a fraction of the cost.

Alo Hat: My absolute fav new athletic hat. The fit is great, very comfortable, and the color is my favorite neutral tan. I get so many complements on this hat and I am stoked to try other products from this brand.

Rex Specs: Now don’t be dog mom hatin’ on me now for trying to protect my dogs eyes. I actually have quite a few friends that own these for their dogs as well. My husband seems to think I’ve gone just a little crazy but when he saw Lulus face light up while she was cruising in the truck with the windows dog he actually thought it was a good investment. Plus, our puppy Kenai has extremely light blue eyes and has a hard time opening her eyes when we are outside because it’s so bright. It took only a few days for them to get used to wearing them and practice makes perfect. The more they wear them the better it gets. The company has awesome sizing charts that are very accurate and send you a video via text every day on training your dog to wear them. I’d say its a win! plus they just look adorable 🙂

Burmuda Dunes Scarf: I am a sucker for accessories. This silk scarf is so darling. I love the simplicity yet chic-ness it adds to any outfit. I wore it recently with a t shirt dress around my neck and it was so cute! Very well made and a great closet addition. Gives off major Horse Girl Energy Vibes mixed with country club equestrian. Tres Chic.

On Cloud Vista Trail Shoes: I rave about this shoe brand all the time but this was my first time getting the trail version of these shoes. I have an REI membership and they sent me a coupon so naturally I used it to get another pair of shoes. These are so lightweight yet durable and the color combo is amazing. The only downside is they aren’t water proof so if you are looking for some weather protection they have other pairs. I for one do not run in the rain or bad weather because ick why. I find these run small and I sized up from a 6.5 to a 7 and they fit perfect.
