What to get the man who has everything he needs and wants nothing?!

Have you ever had a time when you’ve been so stumped on what to get for your special someone?   This happens more often than not for me because he never really wants anything.  That is nice and all that he isn’t materialistic, but I am the type of person that likes to give (and receive LOL JK but mostly give 🙂 ) gifts.  It is a way that I show affection for that person.

Here are a few thing that might spark an idea for the tricky man in your life.  Ive already exhausted most if not all these ideas so I have to come up with new ones for him. But I hope this helps you out a little.

Stocking Stuffers:

Lighters or even better a personalized lighter, Jerky , Nuts ,small, flashlight, wallet, candy, giftcard to their fav lunch joint, Fitness tracker , whiskey stones, flask, Mini Liquor bottles, A new water bottle, socks, undies, playing cards, shaving cream, razors, beard oil, lotion, body wash, nice pens for work, a book, homemade coupon book, poopourii hahaha that one always get a good laugh.  Oh I could go on and on but you catch my drift.

Gift Ideas:

My man is very outdoorsy and manly and I am usually pretty good about getting him what he wants or likes but this year I am having a tough time.

Usually I go for …..

Tools, camping gear, hiking gear, hunting gear, outdoor clothes, snowboarding gear, gopro accessories, electronics, something for his jeep.  But holy cow I am running out of ideas because he just buys his own things now and doesn’t ever tell me what he wants.  SOOOOOOOOO this year I came up with a pretty good idea that I think he is going to love.

I got him a gym bag because he doesn’t have one and I filled it with all sorts of goodies.

I added workout clothes, like a good three pair of shirts and shorts and socks plus a new pair of compression shorts. I also got him new gym shoes! He is going to love those.  Then I added a new key lanyard because his other one is gross.   I put in some BCAA’s, Preworkout, Protein, and Creatine, As well as a new blender bottle.   I also got him this sweet Oakley man travel toiletries case that I filled with everything he would need at the gym!   I really hope he likes what I got him because I worked really hard putting it all together.   I personally would love it if someone did that for me!!!!!!   I am the gym junkie in the household and I am trying to slowly convert him to my ways lol.

Hopefully all you lovely BuffBabes out there try something like this for your man this year.   It helps to have your PIC come with you and push you at the gym!

Cheers for now!

Next up,  is ways to beat the holiday goodies!

The Glorious Well Anticipated Cheat Meal!!!!!

images-2I can be kind of annoying to people on the foods I eat and don’t eat. People always ask why aren’t you eating anything or don’t you want some, and it can get pretty  obnoxious at times.  Like seriously people leave me alone, who cares what I do and don’t eat. AM I RIGHT!!!?   Anyways, I have pretty good self control but when somebody has pizza ohhhh man I am all over that.  Of course its in moderation, like maybe two large pieces but still pizza is one of my guilty pleasures. I love love love it! who couldn’t love pizza and all its cheesy goodness! Sometimes me and my man each week we go to get one slice of New York style pizza and  5 wings each.  Its like a little weekly ritual and cheat meal we enjoy together.  The rest of the week we eat really good and we look forward to our regular weekly date to get pizza and wings.   I don’t like calling them cheat meals because I like to live my life pretty well balanced, but to me this is an indulgence that I truly enjoy! I am not on a strict meal plan right now, so I can allow that flexibility once a week.   Balance is the key to living a healthy happy life!       So, to all my pizza lovers out there, enjoy a slice for me!

Cheers

pizza enthusiast,

Shayla

Hump day motivation

“Surround yourselves with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers, but most of all surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.”- Edmund Lee

We all have that greatness.  Some may have found theirs, while others are still looking, but I can guarantee the right people in your life will not only help you uncover it, but also let it shine.  Find greatness not only in yourself, but in others around you. ❤

Waking up with a little zing! Your new morning ritual!

DRINK LEMON WATER!

Instead of trying this once and saying it was great you should definitely considered making this a healthy daily habit.

Drink warm lemon water with Cheyenne pepper.  It is a major metabolism booster and a great way to kickstart the day. Here are a few helpful tips for you to help you stick to a morning routine.

First of all you must drink this first thing in the morning— on an empty stomach.

How does one successfully do this every single day?

Every night I fill your tea pot with filtered water, place one lemon on the counter from the fridge, along with the cayenne pepper bottle and a cup filled half way with water. As soon as you get up in the morning, When you put on your robe and walk into the kitchen, turn the electric kettle on. Then go into the bathroom and by the time you finish putting in your contact lenses and splash your face with water to wake up or whatever your morning ritual may be – the electric kettle has finished warming up your water. Then pour the water in the glass half full with room temperature water, squeeze one half of the lemon on top, sprinkle with cayenne and drink.

You want to drink this mixture with a straw, so your teeth aren’t exposed to the acid. Try and gulp down at least 15 ounces. Followed by another 8 ounces of water later before your eat or drink anything else.

This is super easy to do on vacuum too! Jjust throw a few lemons right into your luggage – it’s too easy not to do…

Adopting this daily habit has amazing health benefits. Imagine getting sick less, feeling lighter, having regular eliminations, clearer skin, more energy and having a boost in your metabolism leading to weight loss over time…

Doing this ritual every morning provides a super stimulant to the liver, your main detoxing organ in the body. Your liver will release uric acid and create bile to safely eliminate environmental and lifestyle toxins that would otherwise be trapped in your digestive system longer. Remember keeping your liver and digestive system clean and in optimal condition will help your body prevent diseases like cancer in the future. Combining cayenne with lemon increases the detoxing effect and raises the temperature of your body increasing your metabolism.

Drinking this combination will cleanse your body every single day safely and naturally.

So what are you waiting for go grab some lemons and get started today!

A few more tips about lemons –

Store your organic lemons in the fridge – they will last longer because they do not contain fungicide like conventional lemons. I take one lemon out of the fridge each night, because lemon at room temperature is easier to juice.
Remember not to squeeze your lemon directly into boiling water, you will destroy the live enzymes in the lemon. This is why I use half of water at room temperature and half hot water.
Using a stainless steel lemon juicer or a glass one will allow you to get most of the juice from the lemon and is much easier on your hands too.

Cheers!

Holiday Helpful Eating Tips

The whole trick to holiday eating, and in fact our new relationship with food, is to find foods in our new life that we love just as much as foods from our old life.

Instead of being sad about what you can’t eat, celebrate the delicious foods that you can eat; and keep looking at the tag on that new outfit to make you feel even better about the good choices you have made.

Plan, Plan, Plan: Plan workouts from now until after the New Year. Pencil them in your calendar, and keep the appointment!
Set out work-out clothes the night before to help make the commitment. Bring Entertainment to help stick to your work-out (magazines, music, etc.)

Keep a journal throughout the holidays to keep track of your food intake and weight-loss

RELAX! Plan on some relaxing time for yourself.
(Do yoga, talk with friends, take a walk, or meditate)

DANCE! Burn calories and enjoy the holiday music. Plus it keeps you away from being tempted by the food!

Stay Hydrated! Remember your 64oz of fluid, and keep a glass of water in your hand to keep you hydrated and unable to hold a plate of food!

Go Shopping: park far from the building and walk around the mall or shopping center for exercise and to buy presents.

Remember: Most of the foods at holiday parties are available year round. If you find a must-have item, take one or two bites and move on.

This time of year is about a lot more than eating!
Start food-free traditions in your family like ice-skating, caroling, reading holiday stories to your children or grand-children, or making holiday crafts.

Don’t go to a party on an empty stomach; don’t save up all day for one event! Stick to your regular schedule and remember, you don’t want to stretch your pouch! Also remember not to nibble and graze all night either!

Don’t let the hectic holiday schedule force you to eat fast-food. Plan your meals ahead of time so you won’t feel hungry when you are out and about.

Make mindful decisions about what to eat. Think how hard you have worked to lose weight; you don’t want to gain it back over the course of a month!

Listen to your body: Ask yourself if you are actually hungry or if you are eating because the food is there. Are you bored? Depressed? Stressed? Find a better way to cope.

Eat Slowly, and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW!
Use a small plate, and don’t fill it up all the way.

Dress for the occasion! It is much harder to overeat when you have a slim fitting dress or tight pants reminding you of your weigh-loss successes and how great you look and feel!
